Some know him as a southern rooted boy living in DC, some know him as Political Jones, allow us to introduce you to the man behind WIGO AMs Ask, Talk and Listen radio show.

Leroy Jones Jr. (@PoliticalJones) has a continuously successful career that spans decades and covers completing law school and working at the white house during the Clinton administration.

Raised with his sister by devoted and loyal parents, he attended and graduated from North Carolina Central and Howard Universities.

Who is Political Jones? To ask Jones Jr., you’d learn that this public moniker came about as he forged a name for himself in the capital in his early 20s. Climbing the ranks through internships with an eager work ethic, he worked on both sides of the “hill” and earned an appointment to work for Bill Clinton. Never straying from his humble values, Jones states that, “Whether I was in the oval office, the west wing or wherever, I was always the Leroy Jones Jr. that my mother raised.”

At the height of his (now 25+ year) career, Jones appeared as a guest on a well-known radio show after writing an article about the crossover of control from the republican party to democratic. What was supposed to be a one-time appearance, he was invited back for several ‘Political Jones” segments and then finally to a full fledged self-titled radio show. Noting that his goal was to remain in politics, regarding his career change he avidly states that, “This is God’s path.” Always spiritual, he prayed that his journey be made clear to him—and worked from there.

Now a veteran radio personality, he’s transferred his “Commentary for the Common Folks”

motto to his current show, Ask Talk & Listen. With an open mind, the show features guests from all genres and industries, covering everything under the sun. Vowing that as the host he won’t out-talk his guests, Jones wants the show to be a good time for everyone in the studio and listeners.

“The guests are the stars of the show, not me!”

Realizing that today’s audience appreciates a visual platform to follow, the show also has a Youtube channel and archives previously recorded shows on the website.

The father of two gives much credit of his success to his parents, namely his beloved mother. She was a great source of strength and empowerment for him through each of his highly important life decisions.

For 2015 the show is expected to branch into other markets, including: New York, Dallas, San Francisco and Chicago. We take our hats off to Leroy Jones Jr. for all that he’s done and all that he will do.
